What war lead to the acquisition of Florida?

The first answer is close. If you check ouit the link I am providing you it reflects that after the war of 1812 with Britain, the americans came to Florida lloking for the African American Slaves and the Indian's that provided weapons to the British. The Indian's were the Seminole Indians (Florida State Univeristy Seminole's are in north Florida). If you go to the link it explains it all pretty good.
