Can Blockbuster tell if you switched games on them?

I rented an Xbox 360 game that I already own (it doesn't work), and I am really tempted to just switch games on them. I was just gonna put a post it note on it or tell them it didn't work and be on my merry way. Is there anyway for them to tell that I switched games?
