A year of great change for the NHL?

Several teams have unveiled new uniforms, there's blockbuster deals going on all over the place, the Jets are back, there's talks of realignment....other than right after the lockout, has there even been another time where there was such tumultuous change? Why so much change at the same time? Do you think after this season it will settle down a bit?
