With blockbuster being taken out by piracy and netflix, what does that say about the movie industry?

Beside other reasons, Blockbuster failed because the movies were too expensive to rent. A mom and pop video store near me had new rentals for only two bucks, Blockbuster five bucks. Even the mail movies rules were limited. I tried them and moved on.
