Why don't young people take their education seriously?

I'm 12. I take education seriously. I've seen people who haven't and they really don't have a bright future because of that. Young people are still growing up and a lot of them realize when it's time to step up and be responsible. Some just need motivation. Just think about about for a moment. It also depends on the type of environment around them too. The level of striving and the level of not caring at all changes a young person's perspective.
